AMA International Championships, Sheffield

A great weekend for The Martial Arts Centre and Karate England at the AMA English Championships in Sheffield.

Our Squad, consisting of Evie Higgon, Abbie Sutton, Isla Scott, Giosue Calleja, Maddie Donlan and Eleanor Donlan went along to the competition to represent TMAC and Karate England.

Excellent results by all:

Bronze Medal : Team Kata (Evie, Ruby & Connie)

Bronze Medal : Shotokan Adult Kata (Isla) (in a play off for Bronze Isla was awarded the highest score of the whole section)

Bronze Medal : Kumite (Abbie)

Bronze Medal : Black belt cadets Kumite (Madeline)

Bronze Medal : Black Belt over 18s Kumite (Isla)

Gold Medal : Team Kumite (Isla & Alice with Shauna)

Karate England were named as the overall Champions of the event and Sensei Wilson (also Kata Director for Karate England) accepted the trophy on behalf of Karate England.

We are also pleased to announce that, once again, we have been lucky enough to receive sponsorship from Milbank to enable us to assist Isla, Evie & Abbie with the cost of attending the World Karate Championships in USA in July this year where they have been chosen to represent Karate England.
